Director of Enterprise Risk opportunity for a Senior Risk Manager with 7-10 years+ experience within Retail Banking to join a growing and forward-looking Retail Bank with Operations across Manchester and the North East of England.
Previous experience of leading Risk functions in the UK Retail Banking sector is essential. Alongside this, strong Technology/change & Transformation backgrounds are highly desirable.
The role is hybrid with 2 days per week being the expectation in the office in either Manchester or the North East.
This is a pivotal role designed for a transformative leader who can modernize frameworks, influence the Board, and safely navigate a changing technological landscape. A background in Enterprise Risk would be required, with previous or current first line of defence experience highly regarded and second line experience in a UK Retail Banking environment being essential.

Key Dimensions of the Role:
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of the risk oversight framework.
- Maintain and report against relevant Strategic risk appetite statements.
- Ensure effective reporting is in place for risk events and that mitigation plans are robust and clear.
- Support Leadership in effective management of risk, feeding in best practice & learning to support development of a robust response in the 1st line and promote a risk-aware culture.
- Lead stress testing & scenario analysis of operational risks whilst ensuring policies, procedures, recovery plans and resolution packs are maintained.
- Develop, and maintain the Risk Management Strategy with peers in conjunction with the 1st and 2 line risk functions.
- Play an active role in risk governance committees and forum by effectively presenting and addressing key oversight priorities.
- Proactively seek to develop technical and leadership skills through active personal development and deputise as appropriate for the CRO.
