Director of Financial Reporting

Salary: £100,000 - £120,000 + Benefits
The Business:
Stanton House is partnering with a leading UK construction and infrastructure group with revenues exceeding £2bn. The business has built a strong reputation across major projects and long-term partnerships, supported by a diverse portfolio and a clear growth strategy.
Following continued investment and a period of strong performance, the organisation is entering an exciting phase of expansion and transformation, creating an opportunity for an experienced financial reporting leader to join the senior finance team.
The Opportunity:
Our client is seeking a Director of Financial Reporting to lead the Group's financial reporting and technical accounting agenda.
Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a high-profile leadership role responsible for external reporting, Group consolidations, technical accounting, statutory compliance, and governance across the organisation.
You will act as the principal technical accounting expert for the business, partnering with senior stakeholders to provide guidance on complex accounting matters, strategic initiatives, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions. This role offers significant exposure to executive leadership and the opportunity to influence finance strategy within a large, evolving organisation.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead all Group consolidation, external reporting, and statutory reporting activities.
- Ensure the timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting requirements.
- Act as the Group's subject matter expert on IFRS and technical accounting matters.
- Prepare and review technical accounting papers relating to complex transactions and accounting issues.
- Partner with business leaders to support acquisitions, disposals, restructurings, and strategic projects.
- Lead the annual audit process and manage relationships with external auditors and advisors.
- Oversee impairment assessments, valuations, and other technical accounting judgements.
- Drive improvements in financial controls, governance, and reporting processes.
- Support the ongoing enhancement of reporting systems, processes, and finance capabilities.
- Build strong relationships across finance and the wider business, acting as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders.
Experience & Skills:
- ACA qualified (or equivalent).
- Extensive experience in Group financial reporting and consolidations.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge with a detailed understanding of IFRS.
- Experience operating within a large, complex organisation.
- Proven ability to manage external reporting and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience supporting major transactions, technical accounting projects, or corporate activity.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Desirable Experience:
- Experience within construction, infrastructure, engineering, property, or real estate sectors.
- Knowledge of joint ventures and complex contractual arrangements.
- Experience working within a listed or large multi-entity environment.
