Director of Fire Engineering

Buildings | UK

Location: Edinburgh, Glasgow or London
Compensation: Excellent senior package + potential equity/shares

Orange Appointments are working in partnership with a global consultancy, to appoint a Director of Fire Engineering to lead the development and growth of its buildings-focused fire engineering capability across the UK.

This is a significant leadership opportunity for a commercially astute, client-facing Chartered Engineer who is motivated by the chance to build, shape and grow a high-quality offering within a globally established engineering firm. With operations in over 100 countries, they offer the platform, brand and multidisciplinary depth of an international business, combined with the opportunity in the UK to create something with genuine autonomy, visibility and long-term strategic value.

This role is about far more than technical delivery. Our client is seeking an individual with the stature, market credibility and commercial acumen to establish and grow a leading fire engineering proposition within its UK buildings business. It's a rare opportunity to take a leading role in building a business line with the support of a substantial international platform already in place.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
