- Berlin: €80,000 – €100,000
- Brussels: €72,500 – €95,000
- London: £75,000 – £97,500
- Madrid: €60,000 – €75,000
- Paris: €75,000 – €95,000
- Warsaw: €65,000 – €80,000
- Washington, D.C.: $130,000 – $160,000
This new Director of Global Programs role provides the opportunity to play a key role in growing the impact of a leading nonprofit addressing some of the most pressing issues in major democracies. The position requires a blend of:
- Strategic acumen

- Proficiency in delivering measurable results
About the Position
More in Common is a recognised authority in understanding and countering the dynamics of political and social polarisation. Our approach combines:
- Social psychology and public opinion research
- Generation of new insights
- Helping leaders and organisations leverage those insights for real-world impact
The work blends: ✔️ Deep national & local engagement (led by country directors) ✔️ Global and multi-country programs creating broader influences
Our cross-country programs are designed to:
- Generate research findings
- Establish thought leadership
- Disseminate and implement learnings across partners and stakeholders
Recent initiatives explored:
- Public attitudes on immigration and online safety
- The energy transition, Ukraine conflict, and democratic resilience
- Nature and societal responses to division
We’re now expanding this work and creating a new role to direct it.
This position, Director of Global Programs, will focus on leading Mission’s global and multi-country initiatives, focusing on work that benefits from coordinated global efforts rather than local teams acting independently. Key responsibilities include developing and advancing programs—such as:

Fundraising is also central. Building on existing relationships, the role requires:
- Lead multi-country funding proposals
- Maintain governance with philanthropic and institutional donors
- Seamless coordination with country directors and offices
Additionally, the role will require:
- Senior representation at conferences, symposia, roundtables, and government stakeholder engagements
- Sometimes acting in the CEO’s absence

Qualifications and Experience
We seek a strategic, international leader who can drive and steady this multifaceted role with:
Core Attributes
- Passion for Our Mission and core values
- Strong project-management experience, especially with multi-country or cross-institutional research
Critical Experience
- Managing external relationships at a senior level, e.g., turning networks, partnerships and stakeholders
- Three or more fluencies:
- English (essential)
- At least one of: French, German, Spanish, Polish, or Portuguese
Professional Background
- Mindset:
- Preference for leading by influence rather than authority
- Ability to manage peers and country teams who have their own agendas
- Experience:
- Worked within international organisations or multi-country contexts
- Demonstrated success in global fundraising campaigns or philanthropic/ institutional funding strategies
- Communication:
- Exceptional written and oral skills
- Ability to synthesise complexity for diverse audiences
- Background:
- Prior engagement in public opinion research, policy development, politics or international relations (minimum six years)
- Experience in different sectors or roles (e.g., business, NGO, government).
