About Virgil Sports
Virgil Sports is an international youth football development organisation headquartered in South Asia, operating multiple club branches, junior leagues, and community football programmes across several cities. Backed by national corporate sponsors and a growing media profile, we use football as a genuine tool for social change — developing young talent, empowering women and girls, and building community infrastructure from the ground up.
We are now expanding our international footprint and are seeking a senior UK-based Grant Writer to lead our fundraising efforts with British and international funders. This is a strategic role, not an administrative one. You will be a key part of our leadership team's effort to secure long-term, sustainable funding that accelerates our impact.
The Role
You will identify, develop, and secure major grants to fund a portfolio of high-priority projects. Key funding areas include:
- Inner City & Community Engagement: Programmes that use football to engage and empower young people in urban communities.
- Women's & Girls' Football: Expanding female football pathways from grassroots participation to elite development.
- Infrastructure & Facility Development: Capital grant applications to fund football facilities and community hubs.
- Events & Promotions: Funding for high-profile events and campaigns that raise the organisation's profile and drive participation.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.
Start with a chat, not a search bar
Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
