Director of IT, Data & Performance
We are looking for an exceptional Director of IT, Data & Performance to join our client's Senior Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in delivering our organisational ambitions. Reporting directly to the Chief Finance Officer, you will provide strategic leadership across technology, data, business intelligence and performance management, ensuring services are secure, innovative, customer-focused and insight-led.
This is a rare opportunity to influence organisation-wide strategy, lead transformational change and help improve the lives of thousands of customers across Manchester.
The Opportunity
As Director of IT, Data & Performance, you will lead the organisation's technology, data, insight and innovation functions, ensuring they deliver tangible business and customer outcomes.
Working closely with the Executive and Leadership Teams, you will develop and implement strategies that support operational excellence, informed decision-making and continuous improvement across the business.

- Develop and deliver the organisation's technology strategy and roadmap.
- Lead cyber security strategy, governance, testing and compliance.
- Ensure resilient, secure and customer-focused IT services.
- Build strong partnerships with suppliers and technology providers.
- Drive technology innovation and digital transformation initiatives.
Data & Business Intelligence
- Develop and implement a company-wide data strategy.
- Establish robust data governance, quality and management frameworks.
- Translate data into actionable insights that improve services and customer outcomes.
- Lead business intelligence capabilities, including Power BI reporting and analytics.
- Support regulatory reporting and data compliance requirements.
Performance & Continuous Improvement
- Create and embed performance management frameworks and KPIs.
- Drive a culture of evidence-based decision-making.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives using methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma.
- Influence service design and organisational effectiveness through performance insight.

Leadership
- Inspire, coach and develop multidisciplinary teams.
- Promote a culture of accountability, trust and collaboration.
- Provide strategic advice to senior leaders, Board members and committees.
- Lead major organisational change programmes and business transformation projects.
Essential Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience leading IT, Data and Performance functions at Director level.
- Track record of building and leading high-performing multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong experience in technology strategy, cyber security, business intelligence and data governance.
- Demonstrable experience delivering organisational transformation and continuous improvement.
- Experience with Power BI and associated reporting technologies.
- Degree educated or qualified through equivalent experience.
- ITIL or COBIT certification (or equivalent).
- PRINCE2 certification (or equivalent).
- Excellent analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to influence at Board and Executive level.
