About the Role
As Director of Marketing, you will lead MFMac's brand, marketing, communications, digital presence and market profile, helping the firm achieve its ambition to be Scotland's best independent law firm. Working closely with the COO and Director of Key Clients, BD & Tenders, you will develop and deliver a modern, data-led and commercially focused marketing strategy that strengthens reputation, client engagement and business growth.
We are looking for a creative and commercially minded marketing leader who will challenge traditional professional services marketing, bring fresh thinking and ensure marketing investment delivers measurable impact.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver a firm-wide marketing strategy aligned to MFMac's commercial priorities;
- Strengthen the firm's brand, reputation, market positioning and profile across key audiences;
- Lead internal and external communications, media relations, content and thought leadership;
- Oversee digital marketing, website performance, campaigns, social media and marketing technology;
- Use insight, analytics and clear KPIs to measure return on investment and improve marketing effectiveness;
- Work with partners and senior leaders to support client engagement, sector growth and market opportunities;
- Lead events, sponsorships and profile-raising activity that support the firm's strategic objectives;
- Lead, develop and inspire a high-performing marketing team.

About You
You will be a strategic, hands-on marketing leader with the confidence to influence senior stakeholders and the creativity to bring new ideas to a relationship-led, B2B environment. You will bring:
- Significant senior marketing leadership experience, ideally in a B2B or professional services environment;
- A strong track record of delivering marketing strategies that drive measurable business outcomes;
- Expertise across brand, communications, digital marketing, campaigns, content and reputation management;
- The ability to use data, insight and ROI measures to inform decisions and investment;
- Experience influencing executive leaders and building trusted senior relationships;
- A proven ability to lead, develop and inspire high-performing teams;
- Excellent communication, relationship-building and presentation skills.
What Else Would Be Valuable
Legal or professional services experience would be helpful, but we are equally interested in candidates who can bring fresh thinking from other sectors. Experience of marketing transformation, brand repositioning, CRM, marketing automation, AI, analytics or emerging technologies would also be valuable.
