Director of Operations

We are looking for a Director of operations, Transport & Logistics, we are looking for someone who will lead business growth and operational excellence primarily across the Logistics sector while also supporting the Transport sector, developing compelling value propositions, strengthening key client relationships and identifying new opportunities to expand services, market share and profitability.

We are looking for someone who can bring innovation, leadership, clear financial focus to the role. You'll be someone who has a strong business development mindset, ensuring a high-performance culture within your remit. Alongside being an active and visible role within a growing division requiring strong leadership competence, entrepreneurial ability and a proven track record of winning, developing and retaining logistics sector clients. Client interaction is significant and excellent relationship management skills are required.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee day-to-day operations across the role portfolio while identifying commercial opportunities to grow revenue and broaden service penetration within the logistics sector. Develop and implement process improvements to enhance service quality and efficiency. Experience in the logistics, cleaning, security, associated services and integrated services market is essential, with a strong understanding of customer needs, competitive dynamics and growth opportunities. Proven experience in a senior operational management role managing multi service lines, multiple sites and people. Collaborate with executive-level management to shape performance goals, long-term operational plans and business development strategies that support profitable growth in the logistics & transport markets. Set strategic goals for operational efficiency and increased productivity Develop, implement, and monitor day-to-day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress and obstacles for our key initiatives Analyse current operational processes and performance, recommending solutions for improvement Build and maintain relationships with all department leads, external partners and vendors to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals Devise strategies to grow the business across the logistics sector, identifying new clients, strategic accounts, service opportunities and process improvements that maximise revenue and minimise cost. Commercial experience of managing significant budgets with the ability to demonstrate and implement initiatives to measure and improve financial targets. This role will require significant interaction at all levels within the Company and with internal stakeholders and external clients so excellent communication and influencing skills are required. Lead and support business development activity including prospect identification, pipeline development, bid strategy, quotes, tender submissions and high-impact client presentations. The individual will possess excellent leadership and motivational skills in order to create a high performing team and will coach and develop team members to achieve their potential and will have an inspiring and engaging management style. Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative often in challenging situations as well as being a collaborative team player who will support colleagues and provide ideas to improve the whole team effort.
