Role Description

The Director of Operations will oversee day-to-day logistics and supply chain operations, ensuring that service delivery, warehouse performance, and fulfilment activities meet agreed targets and quality standards. This contract, on-site role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, involves leading operational teams, aligning processes with commercial objectives, and driving continuous improvement in productivity, cost control, and customer satisfaction. The Director of Operations will collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to optimise capacity, improve workflow efficiency, and support the onboarding and management of new contracts.

Qualifications

  • Strong Operations Management and logistics/supply chain leadership skills, with a track record of overseeing complex, multi-site or high-volume environments.
  • Advanced Analytical Skills for interpreting data, monitoring KPIs, driving process improvements, and supporting evidence-based decision-making.
  • Proven Team Management and people leadership capabilities, including coaching, performance management, and building collaborative, inclusive teams.
  • Sound Budgeting and financial management skills, including cost control, resource allocation, and supporting commercial planning.
  • Excellent Customer Service and stakeholder management skills, with experience managing client expectations and service-level agreements.
  • Background in logistics, 3PL, warehousing, or supply chain operations; experience in e-fulfilment or contract logistics is highly beneficial.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence at senior levels and engage cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with operational and reporting tools (e.g., WMS, ERP, Excel, BI tools) and familiarity with health, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Operations Management, Supply Chain, Business, or a related field.
