Operations Director
The Operations Director is responsible for leading all operational activities across the UK business, ensuring the safe, efficient, and profitable delivery of services to customers. This includes project delivery, service and maintenance operations, resource planning, supply chain management, and operational performance.
Working closely with the UK Managing Director and Group COO, the role will translate Group strategy and operational priorities into effective local execution, driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.
As the Group continues to expand across Europe, the Operations Director will play a key role in developing and implementing operational standards, governance, and best practices across the wider organization.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
- Develop and lead high-performing teams, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Lead all operational functions, ensuring projects, service contracts, and maintenance activities are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to a high standard.
- Drive operational efficiency, productivity, and service quality through robust processes, performance management, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee workforce planning, resource utilization, supply chain performance, and subcontractor management.
- Ensure adequate and relevant company insurance and compliance with all relevant health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and monitor operational KPIs to drive accountability and performance.

Business & Financial Performance
- Manage operational performance against agreed budgets, financial targets, and business objectives.
- Analyse financial performance, contract profitability, margins, and project outcomes to support effective decision-making and continuous improvement.
- Identify opportunities to improve profitability through operational efficiencies, cost control, and resource optimization.
- Lead operational contract negotiations with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to maximize value and support long-term business performance.
- Support forecasting, budgeting, and business planning activities alongside the Commercial Director.
Group Collaboration
- Work closely with the Group COO and operational leaders across the Group to align UK operations with wider Group objectives and priorities.
- Contribute to the development of Group-wide operational standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Share operational expertise and lessons learned to support the development of consistent ways of working across multiple countries and business units.
- Support operational due diligence, integration planning, and implementation activities relating to acquisitions where required.

Requirements
- Prepared to register as a director on Companies House.
- Experience in submitting tender documents and contract mobilization.
- Proven experience in a senior operational leadership role within facilities management, HVAC, engineering services, or a related sector.
- Strong track record of leading multi-site operations and field-based teams and subcontractor networks.
- Experience managing operational budgets, KPIs, profitability, and business performance.
- Commercial awareness with experience improving operational efficiency and margins.
- Strong people leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and compliance requirements.
- Willingness to travel.
Desirable
- Experience working within a European or multi-country organization.
- Experience contributing to operational transformation, standardization, or integration initiatives.
- Exposure to mergers and acquisitions activity.
- Relevant engineering or technical qualifications.
- Experience with private equity backed or high growth business.
