About The Role

📍 Location: Hybrid (London-based) 💰 Salary: £131,000 – 175,000 + Incentive Awards tied to performance + Benefits ✨

Partnerships Director is a senior leadership role designed to strategically shape how Monzo collaborates with major brands to deliver meaningful value for customers. You’ll spearhead a cross-functional team, impacting Product, Marketing, Data Science, Operations, Legal, Compliance, and Finance.

Your focus:

  • Define and lead Monzo’s partnership strategy to unlock growth in areas like subscriptions, rewards, and customer propositions.
  • Build and scale strategic relationships with leading brands and subscription platforms.
  • Lead complex commercial negotiations, balancing customer value, commercial performance, and operational excellence.
  • Use data-driven insights to refine partnerships for long-term success.
  • Align partnerships with customer journeys, ensuring seamless integration.
  • Foster a high-performing team, scaling operations effectively.
  • Influence senior stakeholders to align partnerships with Monzo’s growth ambitions.

Strategy & Growth

  • Define a long-term pipeline of partnerships that drive customer acquisition, value, and retention.
  • Evaluate and select high-value partners to maximise financial, brand, and operational benefits.
  • Use data analytics to measure KPIs and inform future strategies.

Relationship & Commercial Management

  • Represent Monzo in high-level negotiations with global brands (privately held and corporate).
  • Oversee commercial deal structuring, from initial strategy to execution and ongoing management.
  • Ensure strong collaboration with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Finance teams.

Product & Customer Alignment

  • Embed partnerships to enhance customer experiences across Monzo’s offerings.
  • Work with Product teams to ensure integrations remain simple, transparent, and useful.

Team Leadership & Culture

  • Lead a rapidly growing team with responsibilities in operations, strategy, and commercial partnerships.
  • Develop scalable frameworks for identifying, managing, and optimising partnerships.
  • Build a culture of collaboration and innovation across departments.

Requirements & Qualifications

You’ll shine if you’ve demonstrated a strong ability to:

  • Build and scale strategic partnerships in consumer, tech, fintech, banking, or similar industries.
  • Navigate relationships with major brands, merchant networks, or commercial stakeholders.
  • Lead end-to-end negotiation processes, from strategy to long-term execution.
  • Balance customer-centric, commercial, and operational priorities across complex stakeholders.
  • Leverage data and analytics to guide strategy and measure success.
  • Lead high-performing teams in high-growth, fast-paced environments.
