Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This is a pivotal moment for the people function. We are seeking a leader who combines strategic foresight with operational credibility: someone who can navigate the complexity of a large, research-intensive environment, bring data-driven insight to workforce planning, and engage with equal confidence at the level of the Principal's Senior Leadership Team and the front line. Experience of leading change at scale, a deep commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, and the ability to build trust across a diverse academic and professional community will all be essential.

As a University, and Senior Leadership Team, we are committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and welcome applicants who reflect the diversity we wish to see in our staff and student community, including at senior levels. We are seeking a Director of People who will share and advance this commitment through principled, considerate and respectful leadership.
