Job Description
Role Overview
FRP Advisory is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Restructuring Advisory for our London office.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in restructuring advisory services, with extensive experience in a professional services environment. The focus of the role is advisory work, leading large independent business reviews, contingency planning engagements, and options analysis, as well as cash flow reviews, monitoring, and critical cash management where required.
This role requires a strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to managing complex restructuring situations and providing exceptional client service. The role will be hands-on, requiring confidence in report writing, financial analysis, managing and developing less experienced team members.
Key Responsibilities
Restructuring Advisory Services
- Lead and manage restructuring advisory projects from inception to completion, focusing on:
- Independent business reviews
- Options reviews
- Corporate business restructurings
- Build and sustain excellent client relationships, establishing trust and assuming ownership of client relationships
- Be a first point of client contact
- Provide pre-appointment advice and involvement in formal restructuring processes as required
- Deliver mid-market and large-scale assignments, with the ability to:
- Quickly understand complex group structures
- Prioritise key issues
- Provide insightful analysis and recommendations
- Conduct financial analysis and report writing for partner review
- Review work of junior team members (in conjunction with managers/senior managers)
- Provide guidance and close supervision, particularly in complex areas
- Develop and present strategic recommendations to clients
- Responsible for:
- Client take-on procedures
- Scoping assignments
- Work in progress (WIP) reviews
- Invoicing
- Collecting debts from clients

Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong client relationships with high satisfaction levels
- Lead business development to enhance FRP’s restructuring advisory profile
- Advise clients on restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, refinancing, and other financial matters
- Develop innovative solutions to complex financial and structural challenges
- Lead pitches and presentations to potential clients
- Actively cultivate business networking for new project opportunities
- Participate in FRP’s client service programs
- Identify new project opportunities while supporting partners in achieving Restructuring Advisory team goals
- Act as a departmental representative at industry events

Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor the restructuring advisory team in London
- Collaborate with other FRP departments and offices to leverage expertise and resources
- Ensure compliance with local and international regulations
Requirements & Qualifications
- ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent (preferred)
- Minimum 10 years of experience in restructuring advisory
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
