Director of Sales – Biopharma Vertical
Role Overview
JoVE is looking for a dynamic and results-driven Director of Sales to lead our biopharma vertical. This high-impact role requires you to:
- Own revenue performance for biopharma accounts.
- Lead and develop a team of Account Executives.
- Drive strategic growth across biopharma subscriptions.
You will play a critical role in expanding JoVE's research video library adoption within industry research teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Own and drive revenue performance for the biopharma vertical, consistently meeting and exceeding growth targets.
- Lead, coach, and scale a high-performing team of Account Executives, fostering a culture of accountability, performance, and continuous improvement.
- Develop and execute strategic sales plans to grow adoption of JoVE’s research video library among pharmaceutical and biotech organizations.
- Monitor pipeline health, forecast accuracy, and deal progression, ensuring disciplined execution of complex, multi-stakeholder sales cycles (e.g., biopharma librarians and R&D leadership).
- Define and track KPIs to measure team performance, proactively identifying risks and implementing corrective strategies.
- Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and buyer motivations to refine go-to-market strategies and accelerate revenue growth.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Customer Success, and Product teams to align branding, messaging, and drive renewals and upsells.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- 10+ years of progressive sales experience, including 5+ years leading sales teams in pharmaceutical, biotech, medical device, or healthcare sectors.
- Proven success in driving revenue growth in high-growth sales environments.
- Strong experience managing long sales cycles and multi-stakeholder buying processes.
- Data-driven, strategic thinker with a hands-on leadership approach.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and executive presence.
- Self-driven, results-oriented, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
