Job Description:

Shire Healthcare is recruiting for a Director of Therapeutic Services to work within a hybrid role for a nationwide provider of trauma informed Children’s Specialist Education Services.

Role snapshot:

The post holder will be leading an established and expanding multidisciplinary team of clinicians. This senior leadership opportunity offers the chance to shape and influence the strategic direction of therapeutic services across specialist schools nationwide.

  • Work closely with school leaders to champion the integration of therapeutic approaches throughout the curriculum
  • Enable exceptional outcomes for neurodiverse pupils and those with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
  • Provide strategic leadership for clinical governance
  • Lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing multidisciplinary team, fostering professional growth, collaboration, and service innovation

The successful candidate will have a strategic-minded approach in supporting each service to reach its best potential. The candidate appointed will therefore lead and inspire services across England. This will be home-based with travel to schools across the country.

Contract type – permanent

Hours – full time

Salary – £79,450-£88,250 equivalent 8c afc (dependant on experience) - Plus car allowance

Experience required:

Psychologists applying will have HCPC registration along with:

  • Clinical supervision training and Line management experience
  • Leadership and service development experience with multidisciplinary teams across therapeutic disciplines
  • Significant experience working within the SEND sector, with a strong understanding of the needs of children and young people with complex profiles
  • Experience working in a senior role within a large-scale company with multiple locations
