An exciting opportunity has arisen with a highly respected and rapidly growing accountancy and business advisory firm. With a strong presence across the UK and Ireland, the firm combines local relationships with national expertise, supporting SMEs through high-quality advisory, tax and accountancy services.

Known for its collaborative culture, ambitious growth plans and commitment to developing its people, this is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional seeking a strategic leadership role within a progressive organisation.

Your new role

As Associate Director, you will play a key role in the continued growth and success of the business. You will be responsible for managing and expanding a portfolio of SME clients, delivering commercially focused advice and leading a high-performing team.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing, developing and growing a portfolio of SME clients
  • Building long-term relationships with business owners and key stakeholders
  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities
  • Providing high-quality business advisory, accounts and tax services
  • Leading, mentoring and developing a team of professionals
  • Driving a high-performance culture focused on client service excellence
  • Contributing to strategic planning, revenue growth and profitability targets
  • Ensuring technical compliance and maintaining the highest professional standards
  • Acting as a trusted adviser and ambassador for the firm within the local market

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced practice professional with strong technical expertise and a proven ability to win, retain and develop client relationships.

You will ideally have:

  • ACA, ACCA or equivalent qualification
  • Eligibility to obtain a Practising Certificate
  • Strong knowledge of accounts preparation, business advisory, corporate tax and personal tax
  • Experience managing a significant client portfolio within an accountancy practice environment
  • A commercial mindset with demonstrable business development experience
  • Strong leadership and people management skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities

Previous experience at Senior Manager, Associate Director or Director level would be advantageous.
