Origination Director

£100,000 - £130,000 + bonus + clear route to Partnership

Some of the most commercially valuable people inside advisory firms still end up stuck underneath structures they’ve already outgrown.

You’re building relationships. Creating opportunities. Opening doors. Driving conversations.

But still not getting enough influence, visibility or participation in the upside you’re helping create. This opportunity is different.

Most advisory firms still expect senior commercial people to create opportunities without meaningful infrastructure behind them.

This business already has the relationships.

  • Embedded accounting relationships.
  • Referral channels.
  • Existing transaction and deal flow.
  • Lead generation infrastructure.
  • A substantial wider client ecosystem.

The opportunity is not:

  • “build everything from scratch.”

The opportunity is leveraging and commercialising an already-established ecosystem more effectively.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.

This role is aimed at a commercially credible senior operator who understands how to:

  • Build trusted relationships
  • Create opportunities
  • Influence stakeholders
  • Coordinate introductions
  • Help drive strategic advisory growth

The business is specifically looking for someone who operates with genuine commercial credibility rather than traditional sales behaviour.

This is likely to suit:

  • Origination specialists
  • Relationship-led advisory professionals
  • Entrepreneurial lower mid-market M&A and advisory operators
  • Commercially strong Directors already operating externally at quasi-Partner level
  • Proven commercial operators with strong market credibility

The environment is intentionally different from many competing firms:

  • Entrepreneurial rather than corporate
  • Collaborative rather than political
  • Commercially ambitious without unnecessary bureaucracy
  • Mature, relationship-led and quality focused

Importantly, this is not a role for:

  • Relationship holders rather than opportunity creators
  • Institutional relationship managers
  • Technically strong but commercially weak operators
  • Individuals overly reliant on brand rather than personal credibility

Comp is designed around meaningful commercial contribution and strategic growth:

  • Strong salary
  • Flexible benefits allowance
  • Meaningful bonus potential
  • Clear route toward Partnership

This is an opportunity for someone who enjoys the commercial side of advisory, transactions and relationship-led deal activity, but wants stronger infrastructure, better economics and the ability to help shape a growing platform.

If interested, happy to discuss confidentially.
