Role Overview
Global Citizen’s PR & Communications team is seeking a dynamic PR professional with expertise in innovative storytelling, sharp news judgment, and a robust network of journalists across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa to advance the organisation’s mission.
Reporting directly to the VP of PR & Communications, the Director, Public Relations & Communications, EMEA will manage proactive and strategic communications to drive global impact and protect Global Citizen’s brand across key markets. The role demands exceptional leadership, strong agency management, and cultural adaptability.

This position oversees PR agencies involved in Move Afrika, develops a G7/G20 media strategy, and ensures alignment between New York and regional offices, including collaboration with Artist Relations, Marketing, Brand Partnerships, and Policy & Advocacy.

Responsibilities
Media Relations (60%)
- Cultivate strong relationships with reporters from top-tier outlets, spanning entertainment, hard news, and policy.
- Develop and execute innovative story pitches aligned with Global Citizen’s mission and impact goals.
- Secure interview and thought leadership opportunities for senior executives at all major events, summits, and via podcasts.
PR Campaigns & Events (30%)
- Lead regional PR campaigns for campaigns, events, and brand partnerships.
- Draft and refine press releases, briefs, bios, and backgrounders.
- Coordinate logistics for projects including press conferences, junkets, and briefings across locations.
- Ensure efficient agency management to drive cohesive PR execution.
Team Administration (10%)
- Facilitate cross-department coordination leading up to campaigns and events.
- Schedule meetings and interviews with intercontinental teams and press outlets.
- Maintain prestige-pr Druck/NIBD archives for all projects.
Key Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing preferred.
- 5–8 years’ experience in global PR, media, or politics, particularly with large-scale campaigns.
Attributes
- Strong media networks in hard news, political, and entertainment sectors of recognised markets.
- Digital-first mindset with deep knowledge of trends across newsMedium, social media and emerging platforms.
- Strong writing skills capable of adapting complex content to engaging, clear messaging.
- Expertise in event coordination, press activations, and influencer operations.
- Analytical acumen, adaptability in fast-paced environments, and composure under pressure.
- Ability to work cross-culturally and multi-lingual a plus.
- Commitment to Global Citizen’s mission—ensuring each PR effort furthers collective goals.
