About The Job You're Considering

At Capgemini Invent, we believe difference drives change. As inventive transformation consultants, we blend strategic, creative, scientific and technology capabilities to help clients address the challenges of today and tomorrow. Our work is informed by data and science, superpowered by creativity and design, and underpinned by technology created with purpose.

This is an opportunity to play a senior leadership role in our growing UK Procurement capability, working with industry-leading clients to shape and deliver ambitious procurement transformation programmes across strategy, operating model, digital enablement, cost reduction and sustainable value creation.

Hybrid working: The places that you work from day to day will vary according to your role, your needs, and those of the business; it will be a blend of Company offices, client sites, and your home; noting that you will be unable to work at home 100% of the time.

Your Role

As a Director in our Procurement Transformation practice, you will be responsible for leading the growth, shaping and delivery of a broad portfolio of procurement management consulting work. You will work with CPOs and senior client stakeholders to define the future of procurement, build compelling transformation cases, and deliver measurable business outcomes across cost, service, resilience, sustainability and technology-enabled performance.

You will lead complex, multi-disciplinary consulting engagements across the full procurement lifecycle, with accountability for client value, commercial performance, team leadership and practice growth. This will include pure procurement management consulting projects, large-scale cost reduction programmes, procurement transformation, Source-to-Pay optimisation, operating model redesign, Global Business Services constructs, digital procurement enablement and emerging AI/agent-led procurement innovation.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Leading the design and delivery of major procurement transformation programmes for senior client stakeholders and business unit leadership.
  • Delivering a £2m yearly sales target through shaping and delivering procurement GBS, shared service and operating model programmes.
  • Running a broad range of procurement management consulting projects, including cost reduction, operating model redesign, process optimisation, value creation and procurement capability development.
  • Advising clients across the full Source-to-Pay lifecycle, including category management, sourcing, supplier management, contracting, purchasing, invoice processing and supplier performance.
  • Bringing a broad understanding of procurement technology, data and digital enablement, including the underpinning IT landscape across Source-to-Contract, Purchase-to-Pay and invoice processing.
  • Developing an informed point of view on the use of AI and agents across procurement, from category strategy and market intelligence through to sourcing, supplier performance, buying channels, invoicing and exception management.
  • Leading complex delivery teams, ensuring effective project mobilisation, governance, quality, commercial control and on-time delivery in line with client outcomes and Capgemini Invent delivery standards.
  • Owning senior client relationships, building trusted advisor status and identifying opportunities to expand our impact.
  • Driving business development through origination, proposal leadership, RFP responses, client pitches, proposition development and executive-level client engagement.
  • Contributing to the continued growth through thought leadership, campaign development, white papers, market propositions, recruitment, coaching and community leadership.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
