Director Product Management
Are you an experienced Director of Product Management with a wealth of experience in defining product strategy, driving execution and delivering sustainable growth?
Do you have extensive product management experience within software or technology environments?
Location: London, Europe or US (East Coast)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Director Product Management with technical and commercial experiences to lead a Software as a Service (SaaS) product within our Academic and Government Solutions business. This is a highly visible leadership role responsible for defining product strategy, driving execution, delivering sustainable growth, and ensuring exceptional customer outcomes.
You will own the strategic direction of your product domain, balancing customer needs, market opportunities, technical innovation, and commercial objectives. Working closely with senior stakeholders across product, technology, shared services, sales, marketing, customer success, and executive leadership teams, you will shape the future roadmap and lead investment decisions that maximize value for customers and the business.
You will also play a key leadership role in building and developing a high-performing product management team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
About the Team
Our A&G Solutions team develops innovative technology solutions that support research institutions, universities, funding organisations, and research leaders worldwide. We help our customers make better decisions through trusted data, analytics, workflow tools, and digital products that support the advancement of research and academic excellence.
As part of a global product organisation, you will collaborate with talented colleagues across product management, software engineering, data science, user experience, commercial teams, and customer-facing functions. Together, we deliver market-leading solutions that enable our customers to achieve their goals and create meaningful impact across the global research ecosystem.

Responsibilities
- Define and execute product strategies that drive customer value, business growth, and competitive advantage.
- Develop and communicate a compelling vision, roadmap, and investment strategy for your product portfolio.
- Build deep understanding of customer needs, market dynamics, industry trends, and competitive offerings.
- Lead product discovery, research, experimentation, and data-driven decision-making to inform strategic priorities.
- Drive successful go-to-market planning and execution in partnership with commercial, marketing, and customer-facing teams.
- Establish meaningful product performance metrics and KPIs, using insights to optimise outcomes and return on investment.
- Lead cross-functional teams through the full product lifecycle, from concept through delivery and market adoption.
- Evaluate build, buy, and partner opportunities to support strategic product objectives.
Requirements
- Significant experience in Product Management, including leadership responsibility within complex software or technology environments.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Proven success managing products or product portfolios that have delivered measurable growth and commercial results.
- Experience leading and developing Product Managers and building high-performing teams.
- Strong strategic thinking and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate market opportunities into business outcomes.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at all levels of an organisation.
- Experience using customer insights, market research, analytics, and experimentation to inform product decisions.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
- Experience with AI products and spec-driven code-generation approach to product management is a solid plus
