Role Description

The Client Project Director will report to the Head of Project Management as part of the Project Management and Client Service function. They will have a number of responsibilities in respect of client projects:

  • To ensure seamless project set up and delivery, coordinating across internal teams and external partners
  • To provide a key management role on a portfolio of cases, including significant client and broker contact, with a focus on mid-market PE backed businesses
  • To achieve chargeability targets, whilst ensuring the efficiency and integrity of the Company is maintained
  • To manage and develop junior Project Managers and Associates
  • To promote and support the aims of the Company
  • To own, develop and deliver excellent market and client engagement

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Project Management

  • Manages portfolio of clients across full client lifecycle from creation of initial project plans, oversight and annual activity and renewal of contracts
  • Demonstrates strong case awareness and upward management identifying early upcoming capacity gaps in the team, potential overruns, issues with agreed project timelines etc.
  • Effective management (including categorization and prioritization) of client queries to ensure these are quickly responded to, utilizing Mactavish Technical and Market Management resource as appropriate
  • Follows internal process and ensures all compliance requirements are met
  • Oversees effective running of projects by junior colleagues

Market Engagement

  • Proactively engages brokers through tender and renewal processes to ensure strong engagement and client outcomes
  • Develops network of insurance industry contacts, contributing to overall company goals of network and influence building

Client Engagement

  • Builds client trust through providing accurate project updates, ensuring timely responses to client queries, and seeking pro-active feedback on client satisfaction
  • Able to explain day-to-day insurance concepts (e.g. importance of disclosure, what different policies cover, etc.) in a clear and digestible manner to clients with little to no knowledge of insurance
  • Identifies potential on-sell opportunities, both in respect of standard Mactavish job types and potential areas for service or product development to meet client need

Internal Projects

  • Proactively inputs to Mactavish’s strategic plans in their areas of particular expertise/knowledge, for example in development of new services or third-party relationships
  • Identifies processes or outcomes which could benefit from improvement or amendment and proactively proposes solutions to address
  • Develops clear communications plan for new processes and disseminating that detail to the relevant areas of the business

Candidate Profile

The candidate will have initiative, intuition, and creativity as well as a strong background in problem solving:

  • Experience of dealing directly with clients (ideally CFO, General Counsel or equivalent)
  • Knowledge, interest and experience in the insurance market
  • Ability to own a problem from formulation to conclusion, driving progression and agreement at each stage
  • Desire to learn and to continuously develop your expertise
  • Willingness to go the extra mile for the team and the client
  • Excellent communication, influencing, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Fluent in at least one EU language
  • Ideally with experience in an EU broking environment
