As we continue to evolve our scientific capabilities and technology platforms, we are seeking a Vice President of Translational Science (DMPK) to provide scientific leadership, strategic vision, and innovation across Simcyp’s Translational Science team.
Responsibilities
- Provide scientific and strategic leadership across a wide range of therapeutic areas on multiple modeling projects, including PBPK, QSP, and mechanistic PK/PD models, with accountability for successful project delivery and impact on decision making.
- Collaborate closely with clients to define modeling strategies, clarify project goals, and ensure scientific excellence in deliverables, as a key strategic partner and relationship builder driving repeat business.
- Lead internal teams of multidisciplinary scientists in model development and execution from conceptualization to delivery, managing project portfolios and team performance.
- Lead internal tool/method development and contribute to enhancing Certara’s modeling capabilities.
- Draft statements of work and participate in business development efforts as needed; Contribute on multi-disciplinary projects across Certara divisions.
- Write technical reports and lead peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Manage and mentor a team of scientists; oversee project resourcing, timelines, and quality, with responsibility for career development and performance management of direct reports.
- Lead internal administrative initiatives.

Qualifications
- PhD (or equivalent) in life sciences, engineering, computer sciences, mathematics, physics, or a related field.
- 7+ years industry experience in QSP, mechanistic modeling, or PK/PD modeling.
- Demonstrated success in delivering modeling results that influenced decisions in drug discovery or development.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of delivering presentations and authoring publications in high-impact venues.
- Exposure to regulatory submissions or interactions involving modeling and simulation.
- Demonstrated experience leading modeling projects and managing scientific staff.
