This role offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals with experience in R&D tax claims to join EY’s fast-growing and highly successful Innovation Incentives team. The team is looking for experienced and enthusiastic engineers/scientists to build upon a growing and dynamic practice.
Your Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Leading R&D tax engagements with clients
- Working closely with lead engineers and our clients’ finance and tax departments across various sectors
- Ensuring high-quality delivery of R&D tax claims
- Playing an active role in preparing R&D claims for submission to HMRC
- Providing extensive client communication and maintaining strong relationships

Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the successful delivery of R&D tax services to clients
- Supporting the development of junior team members
- Building and maintaining client relationships, delivering exceptional service
- Developing relationships within the firm and externally with clients to identify opportunities and manage expectations
- Contributing to winning new business by proactively managing existing clients and supporting new client acquisition
Skills and Attributes for Success
Essential
- Previous experience in R&D tax claims
- Strong relationship management skills, including ability to manage client expectations
- Keen interest in understanding the latest, cutting-edge technologies used across diverse businesses
- Strong technical skills, with a desire to further develop expertise
- Advanced Excel proficiency, including handling large and complex datasets
- Excellent communication skills, with confidence in presenting (e.g., holding one-to-one meetings with senior technical and finance staff)
- Highly motivated self-starter with a proven ability to take initiative, while demonstrating collaborative and team-building attitudes
