Role Description

The Director role at GrowSpec is a full-time, on-site position based in Manchester. The Director will oversee strategic planning, operational performance, and commercial growth, ensuring alignment between product innovation, market needs, and financial goals.

The Director will:

  • Build and maintain relationships with clients, partners, and suppliers
  • Represent GrowSpec at industry events
  • Support business development activities
  • Mentor managers
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and internal policies

Qualifications

  • Proven leadership and people management skills, including experience directing cross-functional teams and developing high-performing staff.
  • Strong strategic planning, business development, and commercial acumen, with a track record of driving growth in technology, agritech, or related sectors.
  • Operational management experience, including budgeting, resource planning, performance measurement, and process optimization.
  • Familiarity with agritech, controlled-environment agriculture, or advanced planting technologies is highly beneficial.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Comfort with data-driven decision-making and the use of metrics to guide strategy and operational improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Agriculture, or a related field; advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) is an advantage.
  • Ability to work on-site in Manchester and travel as needed for client meetings, supplier visits, and industry events.
