ROLE OVERVIEW

This is a strategic leadership role accountable for end-to-end Finance Operations and controllership across a complex, multi-country EMEA region. The successful candidate will lead all country finance organisations in the EU, ensuring robust business controls, governance, and operational excellence. The role demands a carrying blend of governance excellence, operational rigor, and transformational leadership, including a mandate to modernise the finance operating model through standardisation, automation, and AI-enabled solutions.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

Finance Operations & Governance

  • Own end-to-end accounting, 統計 reporting, and close governance across EMEA
  • Ensure timely, accurate US GAAP financial reporting with a strong business control environment across the region.
  • Lead responses to audits, investigations, and high-risk issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all local reporting requirements.
  • Enforce team-wide adherence to company Finance and Accounting Policies.

Transformation & Digital Finance Leadership

  • Pilot and deliver large-scale Finance transformation programmes, covering people, processes, and systems.
  • Drive process harmonisation, simplification, and standardisation across EMEA.
  • Identify, implement and scale AI and automation use cases, embedding innovation into core Finance operations.
  • Achieve measurable impact from AI in finance through tangible operational improvements.

Shared Services & Operating Model

  • Govern the performance of outsourced providers (GBS and Shared Services), supporting ongoing transitions.
  • Redesign the Finance operating model, balancing retained vs. shared services accounts.
  • Define clear resources and accountability matrices.

Organisational Leadership

  • Empower and motivate regional teams across multiple countries with decisive, strategic leadership.
  • Drive organisational transformation and capability-building initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted business advisor to senior leadership.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS (Must Have)

  • Experience leading AI-driven transformation in Finance, including end-to-end delivery of AI or automation initiatives, with verifiable ROI.
  • Proven track record in large-scale Finance transformation projects (ERP implementations, process automation, shared services and compliance reform).
  • Experience in Global Business Services (GBS)/Shared Services implementations.
  • Leading large-scale international finance teams inmatrix organisational structures (closings, reporting, controls).
  • Demonstrated ability to influence, influence politically, and align diverse functions across regions.
  • Dominance in accounting standards (especially US GAAP), managing audits, and deploying internal controls and compliance across multi-country environments.
  • Experience working with international Shared Service Centres.
