The Team
A&M’s Restructuring practice has grown exponentially year on year since 2017. We have attracted top performers at Managing Director level (and every other level of experience) from our competitors in the UK and across Europe. We now have over 200 people in the UK working on Turnaround, Restructuring & Insolvency matters.

We have material Restructuring practices across the globe, including: USA, Canada, Caribbean, Europe, India, Middle East, Far East – and many of these are market leading in their individual markets. Given our global scale, we are able to seamlessly deliver cross-border Restructuring & Insolvency mandates, alongside our full-service UK Regional Restructuring offering. Our UK Restructuring practice has established offices in London, Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Dublin, Glasgow and Edinburgh. How You Will Contribute
We are looking for a Director / Senior Director with extensive experience working on Insolvency (formal insolvency or contingency planning) assignments. The individual will report directly to the Managing Directors, who will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of a wide-ranging portfolio of cases from appointment to closure.
As part of a highly skilled team, you will have the opportunity to work on high profile engagements across restructuring advisory and insolvency, working with many of the industry’s leading Managing Directors. Assignments can include multi-stakeholder and often multi-national restructuring advisory engagements and/or UK and cross border insolvency appointments. Projects can also include IBRs, short term cash flow reviews and accelerated mergers & acquisitions.
Successful candidates will gain an exceptional range of experience, working on assignments across the restructuring spectrum. In addition, you will also contribute to business development activities including, leveraging your existing network, contributing to BD initiatives through attending events, identifying potential clients which may need support and the creation of client pitches and proposals to win new mandates. You will also benefit from our flexible culture and hybrid working policy.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will be JIEB or CPI qualified as well as a qualified ACA or ACCA.
- Experience within the Restructuring team of a Big 4 or other large national practice or regional professional services firm.
- You should have a strong background in project managing a mixed case portfolio and supervising staff.
- Must have up to date and detailed knowledge of insolvency legislation, relevant case law, SIPs and guidance from regulators and other government bodies.
- Demonstrate the desire to build on existing skill sets and develop additional knowledge of all restructuring offerings with evident project experience in some / all of the following: company-side advisory projects, accelerated sale processes, IBRs, short term cash flow and capital structure analysis, formal insolvency or contingency planning.
