The Role: Solution Architecture Lead - Value Delivery Europe
As the SA Lead for Value Delivery Europe, you will own and elevate the Solution Architecture (SA) capability across the region. Your mission is to ensure that every architecture delivered into customer projects adheres to consistent, scalable, performance-ready standards, while aligning with data-driven value realization.
Core Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership (Regional)
- Own end-to-end architectural quality across all customer implementations.
- Enforce consistent design practices, reference architectures, and performance benchmarks for all regions.
- Oversee architectural readiness through scoping, design, implementation, anddelivery phases.
Customer Value Realization
- Champion value-driven architecture, ensuring that all designs achieve measurable business outcomes.
- Serve as a senior technical advisor to high-value accounts, addressing escalations with clarity, empathy, and strong technical rigor.
- Drive scalability, performance, and long-term adoption through robust architecture.

Scaling & Growth
- Partner with Sales, Product, and Delivery Leadership to refine technical approaches for scalable solutions.
- Support pre-sales architecture assessments to validate feasibility for complex, high-value engagements.
- Spearhead technical approaches that simplify customer onboarding and reduce implementation risks.
Operational & Delivery Quality Management
- Ensure all Solution Architects (SAs) deliver supportable, scalable architectures adhering to Cognite’s delivery standards.
- Improve efficiency by standardizing architecture patterns, accelerators, deployment templates, and reuse strategies.
- Monitor design quality, technical risk, and architecture-related delivery health metrics across the portfolio.
Team Leadership & Development
- Limit customer-facing or billable participation to ≤20% of your time to focus on capability uplift and mentorship.
- Lead a high-performing Solution Architect community, fostering technical expertise and cross-pod collaboration.
- Develop the SA competency model, learning frameworks, and coaching strategies to enhance collective skills.
- Cultivate a culture of excellence and technical leadership across pods.
Collaboration & Alignment
- Partner closely with Product Management, Engineering, and Industry Innovation to align solution design with platform strategy.
- Align with PM, DE (Data Engineering), and DS (Data Science) leaders to ensure end-to-end delivery cohesion.
- Foster a repository of best practices, templates, and standardized architecture methods for consistent quality.
About You: Key Criteria
Experience (Required)
- 8–12+ years’ experience in Solution Architecture, specializing in SaaS, cloud, data platforms, or enterprise-scale architectures.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams or architecture communities within complex, data-heavy environments.
- Strong track record of working cross-functionally to deliver scalable, performant solutions.

- Deep expertise in:
- Data integration and modeling
- Cloud-native architectures
- API design
- Performance optimization
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts effectively (for executives, peers, and customers).
- Strong influence to align decision-making and enforce standards across teams.
