About the Role

As Director, Solutions & Strategy, you’ll bridge product capability with customer-segment commercial plays. This critical role ensures Travelport’s offerings are transposed into actionable solutions that align with Sales, Customer Success, Consulting, Global Corporates (GCE), Enablement, and our partner ecosystem. Your mission? Turn ambiguity into clear commercial plays—who we target, what we offer, how we monetise and drive adoption.

What You’ll Build

  • A repeatable solution-selling engine across key areas: Hotels, TMC (Travel Management Companies), OTA (Online Travel Agencies), Consolidators, Airlines, and AI-driven operational efficiency.
  • GTM (Go-To-Market) plays that prioritise customer diagnoses, market signals, and product capability.
  • A robust commercial strategy focused on scalability, monetisation, pricing, and execution.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy and Solution Design

  • Lead the creation of target-customer-centric commercial plays including:
    • Problem definition: Identifying core challenges in segments like Hotels, TMC, Airlines, or fleets.
    • Value proposition: Translating product capability into clear, practical solutions.
    • Market opportunity sizing and competitive analysis to justify plays.
    • Go-to-market shaping: Defining customer implementation paths, pricing, and monetisation logic.
    • Discovery tools: Crafting qualification frameworks and objection-react templates.
  • Partner with Product and Product Marketing Teams to ensure messaging aligns with capability and value.

Enablement and Sales Activation

  • Develop documentation to support sales (playbooks, competitor frameworks, proof point matrices) and collaboratively align with Enablement to addressscholastic planningction areas.
  • Translate live customer interactions into actionable feedback for product and marketing teams.

Operational Framework

  • Architect the operating model for solution-selling under your oversight, partnered with Technology, Consulting, GCE, and Partners to establish sustainable patterns rather than one-off bespoke solutions.
  • Implement rigorous measurement frameworks to ensure revenue influence from plays like attach, upsell, or adoption initiatives.

Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Technical Services, Brokerage and Travel Agency groups to continuously refine commercial strategies.

  • Game-changing GTM plays: Solutions that become repeatable assets for revenue generation and conversion acceleration.
  • Pipeline visibility: Clear linking of revised commercial strategies to revenue uplift, attach opportunities, adoption rates.
  • Scaling impact: Where focus shifts from curated campaigns towards an end-to-end commercial solution operation.

The next step for Travelport encompasses curating a commercial narrative that is no longer bogged down by advanced stages of ideation but operationalised in how sales qualifies, positions, and upsells solutions to its customers.


Who Are You?

Experience and Expertise

✔ Senior commercial and operational leader with experience in:

  • B2B Technology, SaaS, Platforms, or enterprise software
  • Strategy-to-execution experience: translating product into customer value, prototyping, and iteration based on market signals. ✔ Deep expertise in revenue strategy including monetisation models, strategic account planning, and solution pricing. ✔ Proven success partnering across teams including Product, Sales, Customer Success, Enablement, and partners. ✔ Solution-centric mindset: Boiled down solutions from feature-heavy evolutions (e.g., NDC, TMC tech stacks), adept to crafting meaningful account plans. ✔ Experience showing us, especially in travel tech, as your bonus points: implementation into industry narratives like GDS, travel marketplaces, or operational efficiency.
