Director, Structured Finance – Structured Receivable Program

About the Role

We are seeking a Director to join our Structured Finance lending team for a full-time, in-office role based in London, Ontario. This position requires a highly results-oriented professional who thrives in a small, dynamic team environment and is passionate about delivering innovative financial solutions.

The ideal candidate will provide portfolio management oversight for new and existing client relationships in our Structured Receivable Program, focusing on:

  • Management and performance of client accounts
  • Structure changes and implementation
  • Reporting, analysis, and credit application preparation

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship & Framework Development

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships, delivering high service standards to both new and existing clients.
  • Develop and recommend innovative financing structures tailored to client needs while ensuring credit quality.

Underwriting & Compliance

  • Oversee underwriting of delegated lending transactions, ensuring:
    • Full compliance with internal policies
    • Proper risk identification
    • Completion of all required security and legal documentation

Credit Management & Risk Monitoring

  • Ensure all credit terms and conditions are satisfied at each funding/advance, recommending appropriate mitigants.
  • Proactively manage assigned accounts by:
    • Conducting timely credit reviews
    • Ensuring adherence to lending, AML/KYC policies
    • Monitoring performance and compliance
  • Identify and address emerging credit risks, including:
    • Follow-ups on late payments
    • Watchlist reporting
    • Developing action plans for deteriorating credits

Risk Mitigation & Process Improvement

  • Collaborate with internal partners to:
    • Resolve audit findings
    • Enhance internal processes
    • Recommend policy improvements

Qualifications Required

Education & Certifications

  • Post-secondary degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.
  • MBA, CPA, or CFA required (or currently working towards one).

Professional Experience & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in banking, with structured or corporate finance exposure preferred.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex credit structures.
  • Proficient in:
    • Financial analysis
    • Basic Excel modeling
  • Demonstrated relationship management and negotiation capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication skills and high attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply sound business judgment in decisions and evaluations.
