About the Role
VersaBank is seeking a Director or Senior Relationship Manager to join its VersaBank USA N.A. Structured Finance Team (open to applicants in Greater Miami, FL; Greater Minneapolis, MN; and London, ON).
This non-traditional relationship manager role blends client management with direct involvement in:
- Credit structuring
- Transaction execution
- Portfolio performance monitoring
Your mission: Drive the stability and growth of VersaBank’s high-performing Structured Finance Programme within the U.S. market by:
- Originating, structuring, underwriting, and managing complex receivables financing programs
- Providing customized solutions for clients and prospects
- Optimising portfolio performance while mitigating risks
Key Responsibilities
Transaction Structuring & Underwriting
- Lead the structuring of new and existing receivables financing programs*, integrating forward flow and securitization elements under VersaBank’s Structured Receivables Programme.
- Design customised transaction structures aligning with client needs and the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Prepare and present detailed credit applications, including:
- Risk identification
- Structural mitigants
- Advanced transaction modelling
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders and credit teams to secure deal approvals and execution.

Portfolio Management & Credit Oversight
- Own performance accountability for a portfolio of structured transactions, overseeing:
- Portfolio growth, risk mitigation, and compliance
- Asset performance, covenant adherence, and credit quality
- Proactively identify emerging risks and propose restructuring solutions or risk adjustments.
- Drive quarterly portfolio reviews, watchlist reporting, and ongoing credit assessments.
Client & Deal Management
- Act as the primary client contact for existing and new business, fostering collaborative growth.
- Engage with decision-makers to adapt funding structures and expand relationships.
- Address critical portfolio challenges, such as:
- Delinquencies
- Maturities
- Performance deterioration
Execution & Governance
- Ensure 100% compliance with internal policies, credit and regulatory frameworks (including BSA/AML/KYC).
- Coordinate with legal counsel to finalise transaction documentation and security agreements.
- Work cross-functionally with:
- Compliance teams
- Credit analysts
- Deal operations to streamline execution.
- Drive continuous enhancements in credit processes and structuring methodologies.
Analytics & Reporting
- Utilise advanced financial modelling and analytical tools (Excel, Power BI) to deliver:
- Actionable portfolio insights for senior stakeholders.
- Data-driven analyses on trends and performance for ongoing optimisation.
Requirements
- Education: Minimum of a Degree or post-secondary Diploma in business administration, finance, or related field.
- Preferred: CFA, MBA, or equivalent designation/time. Structured finance experience highly valued.
- Experience: At least 5 years in structured financing, with specialised expertise in:
- Forward flow facilities
- Receivables financing
- Securitisation markets
- Sector Background: Prior experience within:
- Traditional banking, credit funds or fintech lending
- Structured credit platforms
- Technical & Analytical Skills:
- Advanced Excel proficiency (investment-grade modelling required)
- Power BI (or alternative reporting tools) as a plus
- Ability to assess complex asset pools and transaction nuances.
- Client & Risk Management:
- Proven ability to balance client relationship-building with rigorous credit risk oversight.
- Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication (internal and external).
- Ability to ** Influence** stakeholders and drive accountability.
- Ownership mindset with a track record of results delivery.
