Role Overview
Alvarium Talent are partnered with a Global Advisory firm seeking an experienced Director with technical credibility to advise and deliver on high-impact technology transformation engagements, working with clients across a range of industries including Retail, TMT, and Financial Services.
Our client helps organisations navigate their most complex and critical challenges, combining deep expertise with practical execution to deliver meaningful and lasting impact. Working with businesses through periods of transformation, disruption, and change, they partner with leadership teams to unlock value, improve performance, and create sustainable outcomes.
You will work at the intersection of technology, business strategy, and value creation, helping organisations shape and execute technology agendas that improve operational performance, enable growth, and support major business change initiatives.
The successful candidate will have the credibility to advise C-suite stakeholders, lead complex engagements, develop trusted client relationships, and contribute to the continued growth of the practice.
Responsibilities
- Leading complex technology transformation programmes from initial strategy through to successful delivery, managing small, high-performing teams and collaborating closely with client stakeholders.
- IT cost optimisation and efficiency improvements.
- Technology rationalisation, consolidation, and re-platforming.
- M&A technology activities including due diligence, carve-outs, and post-merger integration.
- Recovery and turnaround of complex technology programmes.
- Advising executive teams on technology strategy, operating models, governance structures, and capability development.
- Supporting clients with technology-led value creation initiatives, including investment planning, cost optimisation, outsourcing strategies, and transformation roadmaps.
- Delivering technology assessments, due diligence activities, and transformation programmes relating to:
- Technology strategy and target operating models.
- Strategic architecture and technology capability assessments.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to senior client stakeholders.
- Developing new business opportunities by building strong market relationships, maintaining an external presence, and supporting business development activities.
- Contributing to the continued development of the firm’s technology offerings, methodologies, intellectual capital, and market propositions.
- Sharing expertise internally and externally, acting as a recognised specialist in relevant technology and industry domains.
- Representing the firm’s values and delivering exceptional client experiences through a collaborative, service-focused approach.

Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring a strong combination of consulting capability, technology expertise, and commercial leadership experience.
You will have:
- Significant experience delivering technology transformation programmes with a combination of consulting and industry experience across Retail, Financial Services or TMT.
- A proven track record of advising senior executives and influencing decision-makers at C-suite level.
- Experience across multiple areas of technology, including some combination of:
- IT strategy and transformation/Technology operating models and governance/Architecture and infrastructure/ Technology cost optimisation/ Programme leadership and recovery.
- Experience delivering complex technology initiatives across different industries, environments, and delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of technology trends and their impact on business strategy and operating models.
- The ability to translate complex technology challenges into clear business outcomes and value creation opportunities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong analytical capability, commercial awareness, and financial understanding.
- Experience building client relationships, identifying opportunities, and contributing to business development.
- A collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree required; postgraduate qualifications such as an MBA or Master’s degree would be advantageous.
- Flexibility and willingness to travel across EMEA as required.
- Ability to work effectively across both client sites, office environments, and remotely.
