Senior Process Engineer (Life Sciences/Advanced Manufacturing)

About the Role

At Fluor, we design and build projects and careers while fostering a collaborative and forward-thinking workplace. We believe in big-picture thinking, empowering our teams, and driving innovation to help build a better world. If you thrive in this culture, we’d love to hear from you!

This client-facing technical role leads process design development for feasibility studies, conceptual designs, and early basic design packages prepared by the Global Project Development Studio (PDS) team for new facilities or retrofits.

Fluor’s PDS is a global team of subject matter experts within the ATLS Division, serving industries such as:

  • Life Sciences
  • Advanced Manufacturing
  • Semiconductor
  • Data Center and Battery Manufacturing

The team delivers as many as fifty projects per year, supporting complex, cross-disciplined solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Lead process design activities for Life Sciences, Advanced Manufacturing, and Advanced Technologies projects to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
  • Develop site master planning, feasibility studies, and concept studies, supplemented by basic/detail design stages with extensive experience.
  • Provide engineering, technical support, and strategic guidance for projects, serving as the primary interface between clients, discipline engineers, and management.
  • Develop process flow diagrams and equipment arrangement layouts to aid facility design and general arrangement packages.
  • Compare and recommend industry technology platforms and equipment options as required by clients.
  • Collaborate closely with the architectural team to align process needs with design specifications.
  • Generate priced equipment lists and I/O (Input/Output) lists as part of design deliverables.
  • Diagnose design challenges, evaluate solutions, and recommend actionable improvements.
  • Support business development initiatives, including project pursuit, proposal development, and commercial negotiations.
  • Contribute to estimating activities and equipment pricing strategies.
  • Share sub域 chemical engineering best practices and knowledge-sharing initiatives within Fluor.
  • Maintain external partnerships with consultants and specialized organizations for expert engagement when needed.
  • Mentor and develop junior/hybrid process engineers within Fluor.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
