Disability Assessor Role – NMC & HCPC Professionals Welcomed
About the Opportunity
- Eligibility: Open to NMC (Nursing/Midwifery Council) and HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) registered professionals
- Key Details
- Stunning starting salary of £39,500 per annum
- 9am–5pm (Mon–Fri) working hours
- Flexible options: Full-time or part-time (3, 4, or 5 days/week)
- Location: Barrow-In-Furness (onsite) with hybrid/homeworking available
- Leave: 25 days annual leave + 8 bank holidays + flexible purchase/sell of 5 extra days

**Role Overview: Disability Assessor
This role involves carrying out up to three discrete client assessments per day. Assessments are conducted via telephone, video call or face-to-face meetings, where you’ll:

- Work with individuals to explore how a disability or health condition impacts their daily life
- Actively listen, engage, and ask informed questions to gain a deep understanding of their challenges
- Produce detailed, factual reports to support Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) in assessing eligibility for benefits (final decision rests with the DWP)

Requirements
Eligible applicants include:
- NMC-registered nurses (RGN, RMN or RNLD) or HCPC-registered professionals, specifically:
- Physiotherapists
- Paramedics
- Occupational Therapists (OTs)
- Possess at least one year of post-registration experience
- Be proactive and eager to learn while working confidently with diverse populations
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills (written and oral)
- Use IT and computer systems with competence and ease
- Be prepared to engage thoroughly with a range of conditions, including those affecting mental health

Contract & Benefits
- Job Types: Permanent positions available as either Full-time or Part-time roles
- Pay: Full-time pay starts at £39,500 pa with opportunities for flexible working hours (22.5 to 37.5 hours per week)
