Job Opportunity: Discovery Technician

Are you curious, detail-oriented, and passionate about solving problems? We are looking for a Discovery Technician to join Cappagh Browne Utilities' specialist Survey & Discovery team, helping to improve the performance of the wastewater network while contributing to environmental improvements across the region.

About the Role

As a Discovery Technician, you will play a key role in investigating drainage systems and wastewater assets, gathering evidence, identifying defects, and uncovering opportunities for future rehabilitation and capital delivery projects. Working across the wastewater network, you will carry out structured investigations including visual flow monitoring, drainage surveys, CCTV inspections, network mapping, and flood investigations. Your findings will directly support initiatives that reduce environmental impact, improve network resilience, and enhance the service delivered to customers and communities. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical challenges, and being part of a team that makes a real difference.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
