Dispatch Manager – Leeds
Location: Leeds Salary: £40,000 to £42,000 Hours: Full-time, Permanent Reporting To: Factory Manager

Based in Leeds, we are a hospitality-focused bedroom manufacturer with 28 years of experience, delivering tailored bedroom solutions nationwide to reputable brands such as Hilton, Radisson, Marriott, and Holiday Inn. Our organisation employs 140+ staff across production and office functions.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Dispatch Manager to lead our Dispatch Department and drive excellence inобеспечиваем hepatic delivery—accurate, on-time, and in-full.
This is a hands-on leadership position focused on managing daily dispatch operations, coordinating seamless shipments, maintaining safety and quality standards, and driving operational efficiency. You’ll collaborate closely with Production, Planning, Stores, Logistics, and Customer Projects to achieve business-outgoing-the-clock success.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, motivate, and develop the dispatch team to exceed performance targets.
- Balance workloads, staffing levels, shift handovers, and task allocation.
- Coach and mentor personnel for career growth through structured training and performance evaluations.
- Foster a positive, safety-focused culture with a drive for continual improvement.

Dispatch & Logistics Operations
- Oversee order packaging, quality checks, and dispatch procedures to meet internal and customer standards.
- Optimise transport schedules, collections, loading, and shipment prioritisation.
- Ensure correct labelling, packaging, and load preparation for all customer shipments.
- Maintain up-to-date dispatch records, delivery documentation, and customer portal updates.
- Manage storage of finished goods to maximise workflow efficiency.
Safety & Quality Assurance
- Champion a strong safety culture, adhering to PPE, procedures, and work safety regulations.
- Ensure full compliance with company SOPs and quality documentation.
- Act as a quality guardian—support corrective and preventative action initiatives.
Performance & Optimisation
- Track KPIs (e.g., throughput, OTIF performance).
- Identify and eliminate operational bottlenecks.
- Lead process improvements (waste reduction, efficiency enhancements).
- Work cross-functionally to enhance collective business outcomes.
Requirements
Essential
- Proven dispatch/logistics, warehouse, or manufacturing management experience.
- Strong leadership with an ability to develop and retain high-performing teams.
- Performance-focused—skilled in managing KPIs, targets, and real-time operational pressures.
- Problem-solving expertise with stellar organisation and multitasking skills.
- Demonstrated verbal/written communication and inter-departmental collaboration.
- Health & safety and quality control knowledge within manufacturing.
- Pressure-resistant, with flexibility to tackle changing priorities.

Desirable
- Experience within manufacturing/distribution industries with hands-on dispatch roles.
- Awareness of OTIF performance metrics and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems, ERP, or dispatch software.
- Understanding of 5S or lean manufacturing principles to drive efficiency.
