About the Role
A Dispatch Operative will report to the Dispatch Supervisor. Duties will primarily comprise of liaising with Project Managers and Logistics Manager to effectively plan the dispatch of goods to the client, the loading and offloading of wagons, movement of materials around the site as directed by the materials manager, basic recording of materials movement on D365, or any other tasks as requested by the Dispatch Supervisor.
What you'll be doing:
- Effective planning of items for dispatch to the clients to ensure internal customer demands are achieved.
- Work closely with the Dispatch Supervisor, Production Scheduler, and Workshop manager to ensure adherence to any production plans by ensuring material is available when required.
- Packing of all goods for transport onward.
- Loading finished product onto organised transport.
- Participate in completing stock take (monthly, quarterly), recording the data, and presenting to the line Manager for further discussion.
- Liaison with all other departments to ensure delivery schedule adherence is achieved.
- Maintenance of company procedures and documentation.
- Effective updating and maintenance of any appropriate departmental records.
- Loading and offloading wagons using appropriate materials handling equipment.
- Moving materials around the site using appropriate materials handling equipment.
- Ensuring the storage yard is kept clean, tidy, and clear of any hazards.

Who we are looking for:
- Applicants attaining this grade will hold a current, valid licence to operate all equipment associated with material movement at the site. An approved body will have certified this qualification.
- Work unsupervised at times.
- Be a good communicator.
- Be a good team player.
- Work in a safe & tidy manner.
- Complete tasks promptly so that material movements are recorded on IBS promptly – normally within the same working day.
