Dispenser

Dispenser – hourly rate: £13.92 to £16.64 (London)

About the Role

As a Dispenser in one of our pharmacy stores, you’ll be a core member of the healthcare team. Working alongside pharmacists and other healthcare professionals, you’ll help deliver safe and efficient pharmacy services.

Your daily work will involve:

  • Building strong relationships with patients by listening to and understanding their needs.
  • Greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, and ensuring safe medicine supply.
  • Providing healthcare advice to help patients make informed decisions about their wellness.

Note: This is a UK-based role. Remote or non-UK candidates cannot apply unless they hold relevant UK qualifications and can provide right-to-work evidence.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prescription Dispensing:
    • Order, label, dispense, endorse, and collect prescriptions while ensuring safe and legal supply.
  • Pharmacy Support:
    • Assist healthcare colleagues in managing and delivering pharmacy services.
  • Patient Care:
    • Offer medicine-related advice to patients; escalate queries to the Pharmacist as needed.
    • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for compliance.
  • Process Improvement:
    • Stay updated on store innovations and adhere to operational processes.
    • Help reduce medication waste and improve adherence through patient support.
  • Technology & Training:
    • Work with digital tools to enhance dispensing processes and patient safety.
    • Gain regular training and career development, including:
      • Pathways to train as a Pharmacy Technician or join store leadership.

Requirements

Essential:

  • Completed NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Advisor (or equivalent), or
  • Currently enrolled in MPharm (first year completed) as a student.
  • Valid UK right-to-work status (Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship is not available).

Desirable:

  • Experience in community pharmacy.
