Headline: Dispenser – Essential Part of a Boots Pharmacy Team (Hourly Pay: £13.92–£16.64 in London locations)


About the Role

As a Dispenser in one of our pharmacies, you’ll be a key member of our healthcare team, supporting pharmacists and colleagues to deliver safe, efficient, and compassionate pharmacy services.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Building trusting relationships with patients by listening, understanding, and addressing their healthcare needs
  • Greeting customers and dispensing prescriptions while ensuring the legal and safe supply of medicines
  • Providing patient advice about medicines, helping them make informed wellness decisions
  • Collaborating within the pharmacy team to manage services, from prescribing to queries

Note: This is a store-based role in the UK only. Non-UK candidates cannot progress unless they hold valid UK qualifications and the right to work in the UK.


Key Responsibilities

Core duties include:

  • Prescription dispensing – Adhering to standards for ordering, labelling, endorsing, storing, and collecting prescriptions
  • Supporting the pharmacy team in managing prescription workflows and patient queries
  • Ensuring safe and legal dispensing of medicines in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
  • Developing ongoing patient relationships, including pharmacy repeats and compliance support
  • Exploring emerging technologies in healthcare, helping modernise processes while boosting patient safety
  • Training to deepen your healthcare knowledge, with opportunities to advance in the team (e.g. Pharmacy Technician or leadership positions)

What You’ll Need

Essential:

  • NVQ2 Pharmacy Advisor qualification (or equivalent) OR the completion of the first year of an MPharm degree
  • Valid UK right to work (This role is not open to Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship.)

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in community pharmacy
