Dispenser (Pharmacy) – London Stores
Salary: £13.92 to £16.64 per hour (depending on store location)
About the Opportunity
As a Dispenser within one of our pharmacy stores, you’ll be a key member of the pharmacy team, supporting pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services.
Your role will involve:
- Building strong patient relationships through active listening and understanding of medical needs
- Greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, ensuring medical safety guidelines for medicine dispensation
- Providing personalised healthcare advice, aiding patients in making informed decisions about their health and wellness
- Promoting patient adherence and reducing medication waste through effective prescription management
This is a store-based role in the UK. Remote applicants and those without UK qualifications or work authorisation will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities

Prescription Dispensing:
- Ordering, labelling, and collecting prescriptions
- Endorsing prescriptions according to safeguarding standards
- Monitoring prescription repeats to ensure accuracy and timeliness

Pharmacy Service Support:
- Collaborating with the healthcare team to deliver pharmacy services
- Maintaining Stock control and inventory updates

Patient Care & Advice:
- Advising customers on medicine usage, side effects and interactions
- Referring complex queries to senior pharmacists when necessary

Compliance & Procedures:
- Adhering to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Keeping updated on emerging healthcare technologies
- Following legal and ethical guidelines in medication supply

Patient Empowerment:
- Supporting patients to manage prescriptions efficiently
- Encouraging medication adherence via education and follow-up

Store & Digital Evolution:
- Adapting to automated dispensing systems to improve efficiency
- Driving patient safety improvements with modern solutions
Training & Career Development

What You’ll Need
Essential Requirements
- Completed the NVQ Level 2 Pharmacy Advisor (or equivalent) or currently enrolled in the first year of an MPharm qualification
- Valid UK Right to Work (no visa sponsorship available)
Desirable Experience
- Experience in community pharmacy settings
