Hours Rate: £13.92 to £16.64 per hour depending on location (London).


About the Role: Dispenser (Pharmacy Team)

As a Dispenser at one of our Boots stores, you’ll play a vital role within our pharmacy team, working alongside pharmacists, healthcare professionals, and colleagues to deliver safe, efficient, and effective pharmacy services.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Prescription Dispensing: Administering, labelling, endorsing, and safely collecting prescriptions while ensuring accurate ordering of medicines.
  • Patient Care & Advice:
    • Greeting customers and building strong relationships based on their healthcare needs.
    • Providing medical advice to patients, managing queries, and referring complex cases to the pharmacist when necessary.
    • Helping patients understand how to take medications correctly and achieving better medication adherence.
  • Assisting the Pharmacy Team:
    • Supporting pharmacy service delivery alongside healthcare professionals.
    • Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain legal and patient safety standards.
  • Operation & Innovation:
    • Staying updated on pharmacy innovations, evolving technologies, and store processes.
    • Adhering to operational procedures to improve workflows and enhance patient safety.
  • Career Growth:
    • Access to training to develop healthcare knowledge.
    • Opportunities to advance towards roles such as Pharmacy Technician or store leadership.

Eligibility

  • Qualification: Must have completed an NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Support or equivalent (e.g., Pharmacy Advisor), or be in your first year as MPharm students (completion required for short listing).
  • Location: Store-based role (remote applications will not be considered). Candidates outside the UK can only apply if they provide evidence of UK qualifications and right to work status.
  • Right to Work: Must possess a valid UK work eligibility.

Preferred Experience

  • Prior experience in community pharmacy.
  • Any knowledge of ** patient care, dispensary standards, or vocational healthcare qualifications** would be beneficial.
