Dispenser – Pharmacy Team Role (Store-Based)
Hourly rate: £13.92–£16.64 (across selected locations within London)
About The Opportunity
As a Dispenser within one of our Boots stores, you’ll play a key role in our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals to deliver safe, high-quality healthcare services.
In this position, you’ll:
- Build strong relationships with patients by listening, understanding their needs, and offering personalised care.
- Provide iPhone or medication advice, while ensuring the safe supply and sale of medicines.
- Handle prescription dispensing, including:
- Ordering medicines
- Labelling and dispensing
- Administering prescriptions
- Supporting reliable repeats to promote medication adherence
- Work closely with healthcare professionals in your store to manage and enhance pharmacy services.
Location Requirement:
- This is a store-based role. Remote applications are not accepted, and applicants outside the UK will only be considered if they possess UK qualifications and the right to work.
Key Responsibilities
Core Duties
- Dispense prescriptions safely and efficiently, following strict Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
- Assist in managing and delivering pharmacy services across your store.
- Provide care and advice on medicines, referring complex queries to the pharmacist as needed.
- Stay updated with new technologies (e.g. digital systems) to improve traditional dispensing processes and enhance patient safety.
- Ensure compliance with legal and operational processes, reducing medicine waste while promoting adherence.
- Deliver patient-focused solutions—whether it’s procurements, condom referrals, or supporting repeat treatments.

What You’ll Need
Essential Requirements
- Completed NVQ Level 2 (Pharmacy Advisor qualification) or equivalent, OR
- First-year completion of a Master of Pharmacy (MPharm) degree, currently working towards qualification.
- Current and valid UK right to work. (Note: Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship not available.)
Desirable (But Not Mandatory)
- Experience working in community pharmacy.
