Dispenser
Dispenser – Community Pharmacy (London)
£13.92–£16.64 per hour (depending on location)
About the Opportunity
As a Dispenser, you’ll be a crucial member of our pharmacy team, supporting the pharmacist and other healthcare professionals in delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality healthcare services.
Your role will include:
- Building strong relationships with patients through active listening
- Safely dispensing prescriptions while ensuring the safe supply of medicines
- Greeting customers, dispensing prescriptions, and providing personalised healthcare advice
- Supporting patients in managing their long-term medication effectively
This is a store-based role in the UK only. Remote or international applicants will not be considered unless they can evidence their UK qualification and right to work.
Key Responsibilities
- Prescription dispensing:
- Ordering, labelling, dispensing, endorsing, and collecting prescriptions while ensuring medicine safety
- Collaborate with healthcare colleagues to manage and deliver pharmacy services
- Care for patients:
- Providing medicine-related advice, referring complex queries to the pharmacist as needed
- Supporting patients with prescription adherence and reducing waste
- Compliance & processes:
- Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for legal, safe dispensing
- Keeping up-to-date with pharmacy innovations and operational changes
- Technology & training:
- Working with new healthcare systems to improve traditional dispensing processes
- Receiving regular training opportunities to develop expertise and career progression (e.g., Pharmacy Technician pathway)

What You’ll Need
Essential Requirements
- Qualification:
- Completed the Pharmacy Advisor NVQ2 (or equivalent) OR currently working towards (or have completed first year of an MPharm)
- Right to work: Must provide a valid UK right to work status (no visa sponsorship available for this role)
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience working in community pharmacy
