Dispenser – UK Community Pharmacy Role
£13.92–£16.64 per hour (London locations) • Full-time store-based position
About the Role
As a Dispenser at a Boots UK pharmacy, you’ll be a key part of our healthcare team, working alongside pharmacists and other professionals to deliver safe, effective, and friendly pharmacy services.
In this hands-on role, you’ll:
- Build strong, trusting relationships with customers through patient-centric care
- Support prescription dispensing, from ordering and labelling medicines to advice-giving and collection
- Assist with healthcare advice and medicines optimisation, ensuring patients understand their treatment plans
- Uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee safe, legal, and efficient medication supply
- Engage with evolving pharmacy technologies to streamline processes and enhance patient safety
This is a fully in-store position—remote applicants will not be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Prescription management:
- Order, label, dispense, endorse, and securely distribute prescription medicines
- Ensure compliance with pharmacy regulations to prevent errors
- Patient support:
- Provide medicines-related advice and disease management guidance
- Support patients with prescription repeats and medication adherence strategies
- Refer complex queries to the pharmacist where necessary
- Team collaboration:
- Work closely with other healthcare professionals in the store
- Assist in managing day-to-day pharmacy operations
- Safety and compliance:
- Adhere to SOPs and pharmacy laws at all times
- Stay updated with new medicines, guidelines, and store innovations
- Career development:
- Access regular training for healthcare knowledge
- Opportunity to train as a Pharmacy Technician or progress into store leadership

What You’ll Need
✅ Essential:
- Completion of NVQ Level 2 in Pharmacy Services (NVQ2) OR at least the first year of an MPharm degree (currently completing)
- Valid UK right to work (roles are not sponsorable for UK visas)
✅ Preferred (but not always required):
- Previous community pharmacy experience
