Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site Dispensing Optician role based in Belfast. The Dispensing Optician will advise customers on suitable frames and lenses, taking accurate measurements to ensure optimal visual performance and comfort. The role involves interpreting prescriptions from optometrists, discussing lens options and coatings, and dispensing spectacles and contact lenses to meet individual needs. Daily tasks include providing excellent customer service, explaining product features, handling adjustments and repairs, and supporting colleagues to maintain an efficient, welcoming practice environment. The Dispensing Optician will also help promote Boots Opticians’ services and offers, contributing to high standards of clinical care and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications
- Strong technical knowledge and practical skills in optics and optometry.
- Ability to conduct and support eye exams and interpret prescriptions accurately.
- Proven commitment to customer service and customer satisfaction in a retail or clinical setting.
- Professional qualification as a Dispensing Optician (e.g., FBDO or equivalent) and eligibility for registration with the relevant regulatory body.
- Effective communication skills, attention to detail, and a patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a busy practice environment.
- Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development and training.
