Optical Specialist – Dispensing Optician (Full-Time or Part-Time)

Specsavers in Bathgate is seeking an experienced Dispensing Optician to join their dynamic team on a full or part-time basis (minimum 3 days).

Located just 40 minutes east of Glasgow, the store recently relocated to a brand-new, modern facility featuring state-of-the-art equipment, including up to 6 testing rooms. You’ll thrive in a collaborative team of 15, renowned for their warmth, sociability, and regularly organised outings.

About the Role

As a Dispensing Optician at Specsavers Bathgate, you’ll ensure patients receive expert care, guidance, and the highest standard of eyewear. You’ll:

  • Evaluate prescriptions and recommend suitable eyewear options
  • Fit and complete frames to precision
  • Educate patients on eye health, proper care, and lens types
  • Collaborate closely with other eye care clinicians (optometrists/dispensers)
  • May take on additional leadership or training opportunities

IdealCandidate

  • Must hold fully-qualified Dispensing Optician registration (GCSE Maths/A-Level Maths preferred)
  • Demonstrable experience in clinical eyewear dispensing, including lab work (if applicable)
  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical information
  • Comfortable working autonomously yet capable of teamwork
  • Must be keen to continue developing expertise through further training
