Amazon MGM Studios Seeks a Distribution Analyst for the UK

Amazon MGM Studios seeks a Distribution Analyst for the UK. This is a unique opportunity for a data specialist with a passion for film to apply their analytical and technical expertise directly to the theatrical distribution business. The Distribution Analyst will leverage SQL, Tableau, and other data tools to drive performance insights, box office analysis, and strategic reporting — while equally managing relationships with UK cinema accounts as a key commercial contact between the studio and exhibitors. The role offers a genuine balance of analytical depth and client-facing engagement, ideal for someone who wants to combine their data and technology skills with the challenge of collaborating in a dynamic and creative industry. This position reports to the Head of UK Theatrical Distribution.

Key Job Responsibilities

Data & Analytics

  • Build, maintain, and enhance Tableau dashboards to visualise box office performance, screen coverage, market share, and release strategy effectiveness across the UK theatrical market.
  • Write and optimise SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyse large datasets from internal systems and external box office data sources.
  • Conduct weekly and title-level performance analysis.
  • Develop box office forecasting models and scenario analyses.
  • Prepare comprehensive post-mortem reports for each title.
  • Monitor and report on competitor release activity, market trends, audience behaviour, and exhibition market developments through data-driven analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, automate workflows, and enhance the team's analytical capabilities.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
