Role: Distribution & Fulfilment Manager

Reports into: Head of Logistics

Contract Type: Full Time, working 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

Location: Hybrid, working 3 days a week in our offices based in Old Street, London

The Role

The Distribution & Fulfilment Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of customer order fulfilment and distribution operations across the company's global logistics network. This role owns the relationship and performance management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) operating the company's DCs, ensuring service levels are consistently achieved and customer delivery expectations are met.

The Distribution & Fulfilment Manager is accountable for outbound planning, carrier management, customer delivery performance, returns operations, and international B2C shipping compliance. Working closely with Customer Service, Commercial Planning, Operations, and Logistics partners, this role is responsible for delivering a seamless customer experience while driving operational efficiency, scalability, and cost control across the fulfilment network.

You’ll Be Responsible for

  • Managing strategic relationships with third-party logistics providers
  • Establish, monitor, and drive performance against contractual SLAs and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with 3PL partners to identify performance improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues impacting customer experience or order fulfilment.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are adequately resourced to support seasonal peaks, product launches, and promotional events.
  • Lead outbound planning activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment across all customer channels and markets.
  • Coordinate order volumes and operational priorities with internal stakeholders and fulfilment partners.
  • Manage order backlogs, capacity constraints, and peak trading readiness.
  • Work with the 3PL partners to drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimise pick, pack, dispatch, and order cycle times.
  • Ensure fulfilment processes support business growth while maintaining service and cost objectives.
  • Manage relationships with parcel carriers, last-mile delivery partners, and logistics service providers.
  • Monitor carrier performance against delivery, cost, and customer experience metrics.
  • Develop and implement carrier strategies to improve transit times, delivery success rates, and shipping economics.
  • Proactively manage transportation risks, disruptions, and contingency planning.
  • Monitor and improve key customer-facing delivery metrics, including on-time delivery, transit performance, and delivery success rates.
  • Partner closely with Customer Service teams to identify recurring delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure delivery commitments are accurately reflected across e-commerce platforms and customer communications.
  • Oversee returns operations across both distribution centres and relevant logistics partners.
  • Monitor returns processing performance, turnaround times, and customer service levels.
  • Develop and maintain performance dashboards covering fulfilment, delivery, and returns
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

You’ll Need to Have:

  • 5+ years of experience in fulfilment, distribution, logistics, or e-commerce operations.
  • Proven experience managing third-party logistics providers and carrier networks.
  • Strong understanding of e-commerce and retail fulfilment, parcel delivery operations, and customer experience metrics.
  • Experience managing international B2C shipping and cross-border compliance requirements.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and logistics reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to communicate clearly, effectively with colleagues, suppliers and the wider teams
