Role: Distribution & Fulfilment Manager

Reports into: Head of Logistics Contract Type: Full-time, 7.5 hours per day, 5 days per week Location: Hybrid, working 3 days a week at Oner Active’s offices (Old Street, London)

The Role

The Distribution & Fulfilment Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of customer order fulfilment and distribution operations across Oner Active’s global logistics network. This role owns the relationship and performance management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) operating distribution centres (DCs), ensuring service levels are consistently met and customer delivery expectations are exceeded.

The Distribution & Fulfilment Manager is accountable for:

  • Outbound planning & carrier management
  • Customer delivery performance
  • Returns operations
  • International B2C shipping compliance

Working closely with Customer Service, Commercial Planning, Operations, and Logistics partners, this role ensures a seamless customer experience while driving operational efficiency, scalability, and cost control across the fulfilment network.


Responsibilities

You’ll be responsible for:

Strategic & Operational Leadership

  • Manage strategic relationships with third-party logistics providers (3PLs) to ensure service excellence and cost efficiency.
  • Establish, monitor, and drive performance against contractual SLAs and KPIs.
  • Conduct regular business reviews with 3PL partners to identify performance improvements and operational efficiencies.
  • Escalate and resolve operational issues impacting customer experience or order fulfilment.
  • Ensure warehouse operations are adequately resourced for seasonal peaks, product launches, and promotional events.

Outbound Planning & Carrier Management

  • Lead outbound planning activities to ensure timely and accurate order fulfilment across all customer channels and markets.
  • Coordinate order volumes and operational priorities with internal stakeholders and fulfilment partners.
  • Schedule order backlogs, peak trading readiness, and capacity constraints proactively.
  • Optimise pick, pack, and dispatch processes by partnering with 3PLs to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

Customer Delivery & Experience Flight

  • Oversee delivery commitments, ensuring they are accurately reflected across e-commerce platforms and customer communications.
  • Manage relationships with parcel carriers, last-mile delivery partners, and logistics service providers.
  • Monitor carrier performance against delivery, cost, and customer experience metrics.
  • Develop carrier strategies to improve transit times, delivery success rates, and shipping economics.
  • Mitigate transportation risks, disruptions, and contingency planning.
  • Monitor and improve key customer-facing delivery metrics, such as:
    • On-time delivery
    • Transit performance
    • Delivery success rates

Partnering with Customer Service

  • Work closely with Customer Service to identify recurring delivery issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Ensure delivery commitments align with e-commerce platforms and customer expectations.

Returns & Operational Excellence

  • Oversee returns operations across distribution centres and relevant logistics partners.
  • Monitor returns processing performance, turnaround times, and customer service levels.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards covering fulfilment, delivery, and returns.
  • Analyse operational data to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities.

Requirements

You’ll need to have:

  • 5+ years’ experience in fulfilment, distribution, logistics, or e-commerce operations.
  • Proven experience in managing third-party logistics providers and carrier networks.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • E-commerce & retail fulfilment
    • Parcel delivery operations
    • Customer experience metrics
  • Experience with international B2C shipping and cross-border compliance.
  • Proficiency with ERP, WMS, and logistics reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with both internal teams and external suppliers.
