The Opportunity
Are you ready for a role where you’re at the frontline of water distribution and repair? This exciting Distribution Operative position offers you the chance to maintain and protect one of our most vital services—clean water—while differentiating yourself in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Core Tasks
- Operate and maintain Hafren Dyfrdwy’s Underground Water Network, including upkeep and repairs of:
- Clean Water Mains (main assets)
- Water distribution systems
- Conduct excavations on public highways and within site boundaries (both company and private lands)
- Provide immediate, customer-focused responses to issues and incidents arising from mains and related assets
Technical Work
- Repair, replacement, and installation of:
- Water mains
- Valves & control equipment
- Washouts and ancillary assets
- Use modern technology for data collection and site maintenance, bridging the gap between field operations and our back-office team

Operational Flexibility
- You’ll be on our 24/7 call-out rota—this means being available anytime, anywhere, day or night.
- You’ll work outdoors in all weathers, across varied and challenging conditions.
What We’re Looking For
Must-Have Qualifications & Experience
✔ A full UK driving license (confident, competent driving is essential for travel between depots/bases) ✔ Self-motivation and strict adherence to health & safety guidelines—your responsibility and your duty of care to colleagues and the public
