Distribution Service Technician

Distribution Service Technician – 12 Month Fixed-Term Contract

At Severn Trent, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We’re in the top 5% of utility companies worldwide when it comes to employee engagement and ranked as a Top 50 UK Employer on Glassdoor. Join us in making a positive impact on the environment and our communities, while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.

If you want to do more, because you care, we want you on our team.

About the Role

We are looking for a Distribution Service Technician to join our Finham team, on a 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC).

This is a varied and hands-on role at the heart of our operations, where you’ll be on the front line protecting and maintaining our water network. From responding quickly to incidents such as burst water mains and customers experiencing supply issues, to carrying out essential remedial work on key assets like valves and hydrants, no two days are the same.

You’ll play a vital, customer-facing role, providing reassurance and support to our communities when they need it most. With a strong focus on customer service, you’ll help ensure a reliable water supply while addressing concerns around water quality. You’ll also respond to potential pollution events, taking swift action to safeguard both our network and the environment.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
